Apamarga (Aghada) – An Important Ayurvedic Medicinal Plant

Apamarga, commonly known as Aghada in Marathi and Achyranthes aspera botanically, is a medicinal plant commonly found around us. Though it may look like an ordinary roadside plant, Ayurveda has described Apamarga as an important medicinal herb with several traditional therapeutic applications. In Ayurvedic Dravyaguna, Apamarga is traditionally associated with selected Kapha-Vata disorders and is used in various classical formulations.
