Onam Special | Kerala Hospital Visit – Learning for Better Patient Care at Harivallabh
This Onam, my visit to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala was not merely for tourism or temple darshan. The purpose was to personally experience and learn from Kerala’s rich traditions of Ayurvedic Panchakarma, traditional therapies, treatment protocols, patient care and hospital practices, so that we can continuously improve the quality of care at Harivallabh Ayurvedic Panchakarma Hospital, Nashik, Maharashtra.
Onam, King Mahabali and the Spirit of Healthcare
Onam is deeply associated with King Mahabali, remembered for his generosity, welfare-oriented rule and concern for his people.
The beautiful saying,
“Ada-Pida Jao De, Balicha Rajya Yeo De!”
carries a profound meaning for me as an Ayurvedic physician. May disease, suffering and difficulties leave every patient’s life, and may health, happiness, peace and prosperity prevail.
Mahabali, Samudra Manthan, Dhanvantari, Ayurveda and Health
The traditional story of Samudra Manthan reminds us of the emergence of Lord Dhanvantari with Amrita, making this journey deeply connected with the spirit of Ayurveda and healing.
This is also the inspiration behind our hospital’s theme:
“From Samudra Manthan to Amrita”
Just as Samudra Manthan required continuous effort and transformation, healing too requires identifying imbalance, working through it and moving towards the Amrita of Health.
Padmanabhaswamy Darshan
During this sacred period, seeking the blessings of Lord Padmanabhaswamy added a spiritual dimension to the journey, reminding me that healthcare is not only about treatment, but also about service, dedication and surrender.
What did Kerala teach us this time?
During the hospital visits, I had the opportunity to observe various aspects of Kerala Ayurveda and Panchakarma, including therapy techniques, treatment protocols, patient care, therapeutic environment and hospital management.
The goal is simple:
Learn what is appropriate, scientific and beneficial for patients, and bring those learnings back to Harivallabh Ayurvedic Panchakarma Hospital in Nashik, Maharashtra.
This journey was not only for me. It was for our Aarogya Sadhaks.
Our aim is to create a meaningful blend of the rich Kerala Panchakarma tradition with our own Maharashtra Ayurvedic tradition, while continuously improving Ayurvedic treatment, Panchakarma care and patient experience in Nashik.
Inspiration from Mahabali’s spirit of public welfare,
Health wisdom through Dhanvantari,
Surrender through Padmanabhaswamy Darshan,
And healing through Ayurveda.
That is the true essence of this journey.

या Onamच्या पवित्र काळात Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala येथे जाण्याचा उद्देश केवळ पर्यटन किंवा मंदिरदर्शन नव्हता. Keralaमधील Ayurvedic Panchakarma, पारंपरिक उपचारपद्धती, patient care आणि hospital practices प्रत्यक्ष अनुभवून त्यातील योग्य आणि रुग्णहिताच्या गोष्टी Harivallabh Ayurvedic Panchakarma Hospital, Nashik येथे आणणे, हा या प्रवासाचा मुख्य उद्देश होता.
Onam म्हणजे महाबली राजाची प्रजाहिताची भावना आणि “एडा-पिडा जाऊ दे, बळीचं राज्य येऊ दे” ही आरोग्य, सुख आणि समृद्धीची सुंदर प्रार्थना.
महाबली, समुद्रमंथन, भगवान धन्वंतरी आणि Ayurveda यांचा हा वैचारिक प्रवास माझ्यासाठी विशेष आध्यात्मिक अनुभव ठरला. याच भावनेतून आपल्या Hospitalमध्ये “समुद्रमंथनातून अमृताकडे” ही Theme ठेवली आहे.
या प्रवासात Keralaतील Panchakarmaच्या विविध पद्धती, treatment protocols, therapy techniques, patient care आणि hospital management यातील अनेक गोष्टी शिकता आल्या.
हा प्रवास माझ्यासाठी नव्हता—तो आपल्या आरोग्य साधकांसाठी होता.
Keralaची उत्कृष्ट Panchakarma परंपरा आणि महाराष्ट्राची आपली Ayurvedic परंपरा यांचा योग्य संगम करून Nashikमधील Harivallabh Ayurvedic Panchakarma Hospitalमध्ये उपचारांची गुणवत्ता आणि patient care अधिक चांगली करण्याचा प्रयत्न सतत सुरू राहील.
महाबलींच्या प्रजाहिताची प्रेरणा,
धन्वंतरींचे आरोग्यज्ञान,
पद्मनाभस्वामींच्या दर्शनातून मिळालेले समर्पण,
आणि Ayurvedaच्या माध्यमातून रुग्णसेवा—
